Band: The Shades of Grey
Album: “Live at the Old I”
Members: Dan Preciado [bass], Jeff Hutting [guitar], Mark Preciado [drums], Luckey [emcee], Baldmatt, [emcee]

If you haven’t checked out Old Ironsides in downtown Sacramento, then you are missing out. The Shades of Gray, a live rock-infused hip-hop band who recorded their first album at Old I, break down what ‘Elemental Music’ is. Baldmatt and Luckey cleverly possess positive emcee vibes as guitarist Jeff and brothers Mark on drums and Dan strumming bass provide a live hard rock sound, sprinkled with funk, progressive-rock, metal and blues.

“It’s called Elemental Music, elements of so many different musical backgrounds and abilities. It’s almost a non-categorical way of categorizing it,” explains Baldmatt.
With songs like, “Double D’s” and “Jedi,” you can really see all the different Shades of Gray this band has to offer. Pick up an album at R5 Records, Dimple Records or hit the band up at www.myspace.com/theshadesofgray.
